About me

I am a medical doctor with over 20 years of experience in Public Health and Healthcare Management, with a strong academic and professional commitment to the advancement of Medical Informatics. My passion for digital health led me to pursue a PhD in Medical Informatics, where my research focused on medical databases, electronic and personal health records, and biostatistics.

Throughout my career, I have been actively involved as expert, team leader, or researcher in multiple European and national projects addressing topics such as bone marrow and organ transplantation, immunology, obstetrics & gynecology, and EHR system development. My interdisciplinary approach integrates evidence-based public health strategies with emerging digital tools, aiming to improve clinical decision-making, healthcare delivery, and health system performance.

Currently, I serve as a Senior Lecturer at the "Victor Babeș" University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Timișoara, within the Department of Medical Informatics. My academic activity focuses on training future healthcare professionals in digital competencies, health information systems, and data governance in health.

In parallel, I contribute to the development of medical informatics standards and policies at national and international levels. I am President of the National Commission 319 – Medical Informatics under ASRO (Romanian Standardization Association), and an Associate Member of CEN/TC 251 and ISO technical committees for health informatics. I also hold the position of Vice-President of the Romanian Society of Medical Informatics and collaborate with the WHO Regional Office for Europe on digital health and public health capacity-building initiatives.

At HIMSS Europe, I work as a Senior Public Health Expert, supporting digital transformation strategies, assessment frameworks, and capacity development across health systems.

My professional interests lie at the intersection of health policy, digital health, interoperability, and data-driven public health, with a sustained focus on promoting safe, efficient, and patient-centered healthcare services.
