Activair is an independent Czech/Slovak technology company founded in 2009 by physicist and entrepreneur Martin Papula. Our team of around 20 technicians, scientists, and specialists combines equipment supply with engineering, system integration, and research and development. With offices in Opava, Brno, and Prague, and a Slovak company established in Banska Bystrica in 2012, we support industrial customers, universities, and research centres across the Czech Republic and Slovakia. We hold ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications.
Vacuum technology is at the heart of our expertise. Our portfolio includes vacuum pumps, valves, components, measurement and control instruments, chambers, and complete vacuum systems, including solutions for ultrahigh vacuum applications. We also supply compressors, blowers, industrial filtration, compressed gas technologies, and nitrogen generators. Our capabilities extend to plasma systems and space simulation equipment.
We support customers throughout the equipment lifecycle, from technical consultation and system design to manufacturing, installation, commissioning, and ongoing service. Our services include preventive maintenance, field service, repairs, overhauls, equipment upgrades, vacuum gauge calibration, and helium leak testing. We provide calculations, simulations, 3D mechanical design, custom components, and integrated systems, complemented by PLC programming and electrical control cabinet design and manufacturing.
Our advanced instrumentation portfolio supports materials research, surface characterization, and precision measurement. It includes atomic force microscopy (AFM), digital holographic microscopy (DHM), imaging and referenced spectroscopic ellipsometry, active vibration isolation, and acoustic enclosures. We also work with lasers and laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS). In 2025, we established a dedicated team focused on advanced instruments, laser technologies, and drones.
Research collaboration is central to our development. In 2019, we established Advanced Physics Devices with researchers from Brno University of Technology and CEITEC to develop advanced equipment for materials research, including vacuum and laser technologies. Our wider R&D activities address plasma processing, advanced coatings, semiconductor applications, laser spectroscopy, and AI-assisted interpretation of AFM data.
We serve sectors ranging from general engineering, heat treatment, metallurgy, and chemical processing to automotive, aerospace, semiconductors, lasers, and accelerator facilities. This breadth allows us to connect scientific requirements with industrial operating conditions.
For B2B cooperation, we welcome manufacturers seeking representation and technical support in Czechia and Slovakia, as well as partners for joint R&D and system integration. We are particularly interested in vacuum technology, photonics, semiconductor technologies, advanced materials, and emerging applications in space, defence, and unmanned systems.
