About

SLASH (Solar LAser for Space debris Harnessing) is building the first scalable, solar-powered laser system for removing hazardous orbital debris, using a multidisciplinary European consortium. The platform integrates concentrated solar power, advanced optical amplifiers, AI debris tracking, and atmospheric ion corridor technology to provide a sustainable, zero-emission solution for satellite operators, agencies, and commercial space ventures.

SLASH leverages adaptive optics and advanced laser technology for a scalable, contactless approach to the growing problem of space junk. The system uses concentrated sunlight to gently nudge dangerous debris into safe re-entry, without launching additional hardware or consuming fuel.
