AlongRoute is a women-led Greek deep-tech SME building a decision-grade marine weather intelligence system for safer, greener and more profitable maritime operations. We follow a robust multi-disciplinary approach by fusing numerical baselines (Numerical Weather Prediction/reanalysis) with Earth Observation and in-situ measurements and then apply physics-aware spatio-temporal AI to deliver high accuracy/quality, multi-variable fields for surface waves, wind and currents, updated on frequent rolling forecasting cycles. On top of the core marine weather forecasts, we provide synthetic observation “truth layers”, operational indices, and post-voyage reconstructions that help maritime stakeholders understand what actually happened and why.

The problem we solve is a structural bottleneck in maritime digitalisation and decarbonisation. Many operational decisions still rely on marine weather data that can be biased, too coarse, inconsistent across variables, or not trusted at the operational scale, especially in intense sea states. This uncertainty drives conservative buffers that translate directly into extra fuel burn, delays, downtime, and disputes. AlongRoute closes the trust gap by improving marine weather forecast skill where it matters most and by providing evidence-grade outputs that can be embedded into existing or new workflows.

Our solution is designed for scale across multiple high-value use cases with one engine, such as voyage optimisation and fleet performance, offshore and port workability planning, claims/underwriting and compliance evidence for charterers and insurers. In validated regions, we have demonstrated ~15–20%+ error (uncertainty) reductions versus standard marine weather products (i.e. Copernicus/ECMWF), with the strongest gains in challenging sea states. We are at TRL 7, with an operational pipeline, benchmarking against satellite and in-situ references, real-world integrations/pilots, and a paying B2B customer on a multi-year data/API subscription.
