About
MHM (Massiv-Holz-Mauer) is a massive timber wall system made from cross-layered solid wood boards that are mechanically fixed together with aluminium nails. The boards are arranged in perpendicular layers, creating a stable and load-bearing panel with excellent structural performance. Unlike many other mass timber products, MHM panels are produced without glue, making them a fully natural and breathable construction material.
The production process involves drying, grading and cross-layering timber boards before mechanically pressing and nailing them together. The result is a solid timber element with high dimensional stability, good acoustic performance and natural moisture buffering properties. The panels can be precisely processed using CNC technology to create wall elements for prefabricated construction.
MHM is often considered a modern alternative to traditional log construction as well as to cross-laminated timber (CLT). It combines the solid wood mass and natural properties of log buildings with the structural efficiency and prefabrication possibilities of engineered timber systems. As a glue-free solution made from renewable raw material, MHM supports sustainable construction and healthy indoor environments.
