Looking for Smart Farming and Dairy Technology Partners for Algeria

Business Developper at Dr. Baya BENHARKAT

Batna, Algeria

About

I am an Algerian veterinarian and agri-development consultant with experience in animal health, veterinary pharmaceuticals, regulatory affairs, dairy farming and international coordination.

I am currently developing a field-based approach focused on the modernization and resilience of dairy farms in Algeria, with particular attention to practical and scalable smart farming solutions that can respond to real farm constraints.

I am interested in connecting with companies, technology providers, research organisations and solution developers working in areas such as:

herd monitoring and decision-support systems;

reproductive management and heat detection;

calf health and early disease detection;

biosecurity and preventive herd health;

feeding efficiency and ration management;

milk quality and production monitoring;

sensors, IoT and farm data management;

irrigation, forage production and climate-resilient farming;

precision livestock farming and affordable automation.

My main interest is not technology for its own sake, but solutions that can demonstrate a clear operational, health or economic benefit for farmers.

The Algerian dairy sector presents specific challenges related to feed availability, climate pressure, water management, production costs, herd health and technology adoption. For this reason, I am particularly interested in technologies that can be adapted to North African conditions rather than simply transferred from European production systems without adjustment.

I am open to exploring different forms of cooperation, including:

pilot projects on Algerian dairy farms;

technology validation and field testing;

local market assessment;

identification of suitable farms and users;

farmer feedback and needs assessment;

adaptation of solutions to local conditions;

partnerships with distributors, veterinarians, research institutions or agricultural stakeholders;

long-term business development in Algeria and North Africa.

My role can include the connection between technology providers, farmers, veterinarians, industry partners and local stakeholders, helping international companies better understand both the technical needs and the operational realities of the Algerian market.

I am particularly interested in partners looking for a field-oriented, veterinary and market-based approach to smart farming in North Africa.
