Yapı Merkezi, founded in 1965 in Türkiye, became one of the leading general contractors of Türkiye focusing on building infrastructure in the fields of mass transit systems such as metros and tramways as well as railways for freight and high-speed passengers. Yapı Merkezi also specializes in tunnels, bridges, viaducts and advanced buildings. In addition to Yapı Merkezi's land-mark projects and remarkable participation in Türkiye's infrastructure and construction sector, YM also has a strong presence in the international arena actively carrying out projects in the Middle East, Sub-Saharan Africa and Europe. YM completed more than 500 projects and currently has on-going projects in 12 different countries. YM appears in the "TOP 250 International Contractors List" published annually by ENR since 1998 and was ranked 103rd on 2025's list. The company was also ranked 8th in 2024's "Mass Transit & Rail" List. Over the years, YM demonstrated an ability and capacity to build mega construction projects earlier than scheduled, in budget and better than the quality targeted. YM's successful presence in the structuring and management of PPP projects is evidenced by its recent success with the 5.4 km long Eurasia Subsea Tunnel as well as the world's longest span suspension bridge, 1915Çanakkale. As national projects, YM built the majority of urban mass transportation systems operated in Türkiye.
