Material for battery covers

Together with renowned partners from the fields of raw material development, machine engineering and thermoforming, Senoplast has been working on the development of battery covers for electric vehicles. As part of this collaboration, Senoplast has extruded sheets from raw materials specially developed for this purpose, which were then thermoformed on a special machine and reinforced with carbonfibre inserts. This type of battery cover is designed to protect vehicle occupants in the event of a battery cell fire explosion (‘thermal runaway’). A demonstrator of this joint development will be on display at the Senoplast exhibition stand at the K show in hall 8A.
