Mario joined RESALLIENCE in April 2022 as Project Manager. His missions are in the field of remote sensing, climate modelling, and environmental impact studies.
About me
Mario J. Al Sayah holds a PhD degree in Land management, Environmental Sciences and Geography from the University of Orléans, France, the Lebanese University and the National Council of Scientific Research, Remote Sensing Center of Lebanon. His PhD was funded by a scholarship from the Lebanese CNRS, the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF) and the Lebanese University. His thesis was awarded the Scientific Excellence Award 2018 from the Lebanese University and is ranked amongst the top five percent theses of the University of Orléans. Prior to his Doctoral studies, Mario graduated from the Lebanese University Faculty of Sciences, holding a Bachelor’s degree in Earth and Life Sciences, a Master’s of Research in Biodiversity and Conservation, and a Master’s of Research in Environmental Geosciences, option: Remote Sensing and GIS. He was ranked first during his years of study and took part of the Lebanese CNRS – Remote Sensing Center from 2015 to 2020. With two Postdoctoral fellowships in the University of Orléans and the École des Ponts ParisTech (École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées) respectively, Mario Al Sayah’s research focuses on several aspects, namely land degradation, the Land Degradation Neutrality (LDN) concept, nature-based solutions, sustainable development, soil loss processes, remote sensing, and climate change in Mediterranean and European contexts. In 2022, Mario is currently the head of the Earth Observation and GIS unit of RESALLIENCE by Sixense Engineering- VINCI. Accordingly, he is pursuing research, project management, consulting and teaching, simultaneously
