About me

Clara Delgado, M.Sc. Industrial Chemistry.

Senior researcher in Sustainability and Environment in the Department of RD of Metallurgical Processes of AZTERLAN since 2016. From 2000 to 2016, she worked as researcher in the Recycling and Sustainability Dept. of GAIKER Technology Centre. Previous experience: Researcher in the Chemical Engineering Dept. of the University of the Basque Country (UPV-EHU), Researcher in ESPINDESA and Lab Analyst in the chemical company SEFANITRO, S.A.

Twenty-three years’ experience, with a track record in coordination and participation in national and European projects in the fields of waste analysis, assessment of End-of-Life scenarios; ecodesign and LCA-LCC of products and technologies; and recycling/recovery of WEEE, ELV, post-consumer plastics, metal scrap and waste from foundries. Experienced at evaluation of new applications of secondary materials, environmental impact assessment of novel technologies and recycling-recovery alternatives, development of identification/sorting/reprocessing schemes applied to materials recovered from different waste streams, advisory services for implementation of ecodesign (DfR, DfD, DfE) and application for environmental labels/declarations.

Engaged in revision and working groups for Ecodesign (MEErP, ESPR-iron&steel) and member of the Technical Advisory Board for the EU PEF Transition Phase.
