Session 6: Roundtables - Jo Luping - Director, Producer, Writer, Designer

Jo has been working in film, television and design for the past 25 years as a Director, Producer, Writer and Designer. Projects include two broadcast television series (26 Episodes), an award winning one hour documentary about the plight of the Palestinians and creating animation for the short film Huminodun and Classics Explained, a UK web series (15 Episodes) which won the 2024 UK Best Animated Web Series Award. Her feature film Don’t Eat The Rice was selected as part of the Frontieres Co-Production 2020 and is in pre-production for filming in 2026. Her feature animation Anavau and the Legend of Nunuk Ragang was selected to be presented at the prestigious Annecy Animation Film Festival MIFA in France 2024. Her animated short film ““I Duok Om I Bohuntung – The Owl and the Rainbow” was awarded the coveted Kōpere Hou – NZFC funding in 2024. She began her career in film working as a camera operator behind the scenes for The Lord of The Rings in 2000. Her design company Jo Luping Design sells products into over 400 retail stores.
