Session 6: Roundtables - Garrick Rawlingson - Co-Founder, Head of Growth, Executive Producer at Floating Rock

After earning a master’s degree in Cinema and CGI and co‑directing a festival‑winning short film in France, I joined Weta Digital as a character and creature animator on blockbuster films including The Hunger Games and The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies.

Six years later, my career took me around the globe, from MPC in Vancouver to Animal Logic in Sydney.

It was only after returning to Wellington, NZ, that a group of animator friends and I decided to launch Floating Rock, one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Today, our studio spans multiple mediums, from VFX and animation to games.
