Aegean Apparel Exporters Association

Aegean Apparel Exporters’ Association (EHKIB) was established in 1984 in Izmir for increasing Turkey's apparel export revenues, expanding the range of exports products as well as finding new markets. EHKIB aims to support clothing manufacturer exporters operating in the Aegean Region. EHKIB is working with membership model, playing important roles in strengthening the trade and export relations, network of their members; also serve as an intermediary between the public authorities, academia and industry. EHKIB has strong links to clothing manufacturing companies because of the membership business model, they have a good infrastructure with its human resources for administrative, financial, and technical project management, and can conduct awareness raising activities.  Members are informed about export procedures, regulations, national and international fairs and exhibitions. Regarding the EU Green Deal, EHKIB aims to develop projects to support the industry especially within the framework of climate action, sustainability and digitalization topics, organize training activities and innovation studies, networking (B2B, trade mission programs, national fair participation) events to provide qualified workforce and increase awareness. It has a good infrastructure with its human resources. EHKIB possesses a deep knowledge and understanding of industry, particularly the needs and challenges faced by companies, as a result of MSc degree chemical, environmental and textile engineers, international business managers working in its infrastructure. EHKIB has nearly 1.000 clothing manufacturer exporter members active in chain of fashion and apparel industry in Aegean Region of Turkey. Their activities involve providing SMEs, large companies in Izmir, Turkey with information & advice with business-export matters, training and development programs, networking opportunities, representation to government on issues affecting the industry.
