Tilli Tanit is a Tunisian family-run embroidery workshop where tradition and contemporary creation meet with sensitivity. Founded in 2014 by Nejib Belhadj, heir to a lineage of traditional embroiderers from Mahdia, the workshop follows both a social and artistic mission: preserving a precious craft while ensuring fair working conditions and proper recognition for the artisans.

In each piece, Tilli Tanit explores a subtle dialogue between noble and more raw materials—silk thread, gold thread, wool, linen, sisal, cotton, and metallic thread—creating rich and contrasting textures. Traditional gestures are reinterpreted through a variety of stitches (backstitch, filling stitch, long and short stitch, satin stitch, running stitch, straight stitch, French knot, blanket stitch, and blackwork), forming a unique textile language.

Each work becomes a living composition, where memory, material, and modernity intertwine, giving rise to a contemporary embroidery deeply rooted in Tunisian heritage.
