Co-designing sustainable textile futures from Prato's Textile District

EU Project Manager & Impact Strategist at Codesign Toscana

Prato, Italy

About

Codesign Toscana is looking for partners and consortiums interested in jointly developing projects in the fields of textiles, circular economy, sustainability, cultural heritage, social innovation and community engagement.

Based in Prato, one of Europe's most important textile districts, Codesign Toscana operates at the intersection of design, participation and territorial innovation. We develop collaborative processes that bring together businesses, cultural institutions, citizens, researchers and public authorities to address contemporary challenges through co-design and stakeholder engagement.

A distinctive asset of our organisation is our close relationship with the Textile Museum of Prato (https://www.museodeltessuto.it/), Italy's leading museum dedicated to textile culture, innovation and history. Located in the heart of a district internationally recognised for textile production, recycling and circular economy practices, the Museum represents a unique bridge between heritage, industry, education and innovation.

Through this ecosystem, Codesign Toscana contributes expertise in:

• Co-design and participatory methodologies
• Stakeholder engagement and community involvement
• Textile heritage valorisation and cultural innovation
• Sustainable and circular textile transitions
• Capacity building and collaborative learning processes
• Communication, dissemination and public engagement
• Place-based innovation and territorial development

We are particularly interested in collaborating on initiatives addressing sustainable textiles, circular value chains, textile heritage, creative industries, skills development, citizen engagement and innovation ecosystems, contributing both to proposal development and project implementation.
