About me
Lais Galileu Speranza is the Sustainability Group Leader at GreenCoLab. She holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Birmingham (UK) and graduated in Environmental and Urban Engineering and Science and Technology's Bachelor at Universidade Federal do ABC (Brazil) with a one-year exchange program at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln (US). Currently, she coordinates the team that develops the life cycle assessment (LCA) and techno-economic analyses (TEA) models of microalgae and seaweed products and the production and processing facilities. She is responsible for quantifying and presenting the algae products and systems' environmental and social impacts, as well as their economic viability to define future improvements in the production and commercialisation pipeline. She also applies the circular economy approach to promote a positive impact of algae on society and as an ecosystem service.
