Algama is a French Food-Tech company dedicated to providing solutions and meeting one of the greatest challenges of the century: to sustainably feed the growing world population. The food industry is being reshaped thanks to consumer demand and unprecedented population growth. Algama was created in 2013, to harness the potential of microalgae and create the food of the future. These are, for the moment, nothing more than a dietary supplement. Supported by leading international investors and partners, Algama is today a team of 40 people bringing together innovators, highly qualified young scientists, seasoned researchers and highly experienced marketers, making this company the only one capable of put algae functionalities in our plates. We use the enormous potential of algae to create technologies, new ingredients and products that are not only healthy and sustainable, but also very tasty. Alga has unparalleled health benefits, up to 70% protein, vitamins, minerals and polyunsaturated fatty acids; they are also one of the most sustainable foods that can be found today. We reveal the value and functionality of algae compounds for their health, texturizing and substitution properties. From this core, our formulation and scaling skills allow us to create hundreds of applications that make best-in-class products. Algama has offices in Paris and New York where we marketed our first products, an ingredient replacing eggs and the first vegan range of algae-based condiments entering more than 2,000 stores.
