About me
Laura Maragna is a Senior Innovation Consultant at EurA Innovation Ecosystems, based in Portugal, where she currently manages the EU4Algae project—an EU-wide initiative to support and connect stakeholders in the growing algae sector. Her career has been shaped by a strong commitment to environment, international cooperation, and innovation-driven policy.
Before joining EurA, Laura gained valuable experience working across European institutions and international organisations. She has contributed to scientific diplomacy and policy coordination at the EU Delegation in Brazil, supported evidence-based policymaking at the Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission, and worked with a UN agency.
Laura’s work is centred on building bridges between science, innovation, and policy—particularly within the marine and blue bioeconomy sectors. She is especially engaged in advancing algae as a strategic resource for Europe’s green transition.
In addition to her project management roles, Laura is also active in public engagement and knowledge-sharing. She regularly moderates and speaks at events and has recently led discussions at European forums on blue bioeconomy and algae-related discussions.
