About me
Zoi Roupakia is a Policy and AI Research Lead at the University of Cambridge's Institute for Manufacturing, where she leads evidence-based policy research on innovation and technology. As a Policy Affiliate at Cambridge Industrial Innovation Policy (IfM Engage), she provides expertise in AI and industrial digital technologies to support global innovation policy initiatives. She was co-author of the first Manifesto for Global Industrial Safety, collaborating with UNIDO, Lloyd's Register Foundation, and GMIS. Her research experience includes machine learning work at Google, where she was awarded a patent in voice conversion methods, and speech recognition research at the University of Cambridge Engineering Department. She participated as an invited AI expert in the 16th UN Economic Commission for Europe's Team of Specialists on Innovation. Currently, she is also a Research Group Member at the Centre for AI and Digital Policy, Washington, contributing to their AI Policy Clinic. Her work spans innovation policy, digitalisation, and responsible AI.
