About me

Miro Govedarica, Ph.D., is a Full Professor at the Faculty of Technical Sciences, University of Novi Sad, Serbia, specializing in geoinformatics with a strong research focus on GeoAI and Digital Twin systems. His academic work centers on the integration of artificial intelligence, advanced spatial analytics, and large-scale geospatial data infrastructures to develop intelligent, data-driven geospatial ecosystems.

He has authored and co-authored numerous peer-reviewed publications in international journals and conference proceedings and has led multiple national and international research and innovation projects. His research contributes to the advancement of AI-driven geospatial systems, service-oriented geoinformation architectures, and interoperable spatial data infrastructures.

His expertise includes geospatial software engineering, geospatial databases, geoservices architectures, spatial data infrastructures, and geospatial big data analytics. He actively integrates remote sensing, photogrammetry, laser scanning, Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS), and Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) within scalable GeoAI frameworks and Digital Twin models for smart cities, infrastructure systems, environmental monitoring, and sustainable spatial planning.

His work emphasizes scientific innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the implementation of emerging geoinformatics technologies in research, higher education, and applied digital transformation initiatives.
