About
Polaris is a real-time IX platform that enables organisations to transform operational data into contextual and immersive AR/IX experiences for employees in the field.
Polaris is currently being developed as part of a innovation programme initiated by the Dutch government (IIC), with the Dutch National Police acting as the launching customer. The platform is built around the principle that the challenge in modern operational environments is no longer gaining access to data, but transforming fragmented information into actionable context. Employees already work with large volumes of data distributed across systems, applications and communication channels. Polaris focuses on delivering the right information, at the right moment and in the right form, without disrupting operational focus or increasing cognitive load.
Polaris addresses this by functioning as a real-time orchestration and contextualisation layer between enterprise systems, live data streams and immersive interfaces. Through APIs, event-driven architectures and modular connectors, the platform integrates operational software, IoT devices, sensors, communication systems, open data sources and AI-driven processing into one unified operational environment.
At the core of the platform is an AI-powered processing engine that continuously analyses, enriches and contextualises incoming information streams. Rather than requiring users to actively search for information or switch between applications, Polaris automatically translates operational context into relevant IX-components and immersive interactions tailored to the user’s location, situation and task.
The platform enables organisations to create, manage and deploy modular AR/IX components across different workflows, operational scenarios and device types. This includes wearables, mobile devices and future immersive interfaces. Through a scalable SDK and standardised integration layer, organisations and creators can rapidly develop new IX applications without rebuilding the underlying infrastructure for every individual use case.
Polaris is designed as a platform rather than a single-purpose application. Instead of replacing existing enterprise systems, it creates an intelligence layer on top of the existing IT landscape. This allows organisations to incrementally connect new data sources, AI models and immersive workflows while maintaining flexibility and scalability.
The architecture is built around realtime processing and operational responsiveness. Live data streams, including video and sensor input from field devices, can be analysed and contextualised in near realtime. AI models, rule-based orchestration and geospatial processing work together to identify patterns, operational relevance and contextual relationships that can be translated directly into immersive guidance and decision support.
Security, governance and reliability are embedded throughout the platform through role-based permissions, audit logging, controlled integrations and scalable cloud-native infrastructure. This makes Polaris suitable for mission-critical operational environments where continuity, traceability and secure information handling are essential.
The result is a scalable IX platform that transforms fragmented operational data into intuitive, contextual and immersive experiences that support faster decision-making, reduce cognitive load and improve operational effectiveness in the real world.
