About

The National Office of Electricity and Drinking Water (ONEE) is the historical public operator in charge of vital electricity and drinking water services in Morocco.

Responsible for planning and supplying the country with electricity and drinking water, ONEE invests in structuring projects that provide the country with modern, efficient, and reliable infrastructure for the production, transmission, and distribution of electricity and drinking water.

ONEE has a drinking water production capacity of 7.5 million m³ per day and an installed electrical capacity of 12 GW, of which more than 45% of the installed capacity comes from renewable energy sources

To achieve the goal of more than 52% of installed capacity from renewable energy sources by 2030, ONEE is committed to an ambitious evolution in the planning and operation of the electricity system, in order to guarantee its flexibility, robustness, and reliability. This relies in particular on a robust high-voltage/high-voltage transmission network of more than 30,000 kilometers, deployed according to the best international standards.

Furthermore, ONEE is aligned with the Kingdom of Morocco's dynamic role as a regional energy hub between Africa and Europe, by developing strategic interconnections with countries in the region
