Synthetic Natural Gas production from CO2 and green hydrogen

Within the European project FUELPHORIA, we provide expertise on the industrial transformation of captured CO₂ into sustainable fuels and value-added products. Our contribution focuses on Demo 2, developed in collaboration with Viñas del Vero, where CO₂ emissions generated during winery operations are captured and used as a feedstock for advanced conversion processes.

This demonstration addresses a key industrial challenge: turning unavoidable CO₂ emissions into a resource rather than a waste, fully aligned with circular economy and decarbonisation strategies. The work combines CO₂ capture, conditioning and catalytic transformation technologies, aiming at scalable and replicable solutions for industrial environments.

At Advanced Factories 2026, we offer first-hand insight into the technical challenges, integration aspects and industrial readiness of CO₂ utilisation pathways, with a strong focus on cross-sector applicability (food & beverage, chemicals, energy-intensive industries). This expertise is particularly relevant for companies seeking to reduce their carbon footprint while creating new value chains based on carbon recycling.
