About me
Nesibe Kırış is a consultant specializing in public policy, business strategy, and corporate affairs, with a strong focus on artificial intelligence policies and technology governance. Combining her legal expertise in compliance and sociological insight into societal dynamics, she helps organizations align innovation with ethical and regulatory standards.
As the AI Policy Team Leader at CAIDP (Center for AI and Digital Policy), Nesibe leads efforts to assess global AI governance and ethical frameworks, contributing to the Global AI and Democratic Values Index. She has also worked on initiatives like the CDR AI Türkiye Civil Society AI Capacity Enhancement Analysis, analyzing AI’s impact on democracy and ethical applications.
Her career began at Ussal Consultancy, where she developed expertise in technology and regulatory policy. She later joined the American Chamber of Commerce Türkiye, advancing to Government Affairs Director, leading public policy efforts for over 140 global companies, including Microsoft, AWS, and Boeing. She spearheaded initiatives like the HBR Türkiye AI Webinar Series, fostering collaboration between the corporate sector and government on technology policies.
Nesibe is the founder and writer of TechLetter, an English-language technology policy newsletter reaching over 4,500 subscribers from 65 countries. She also writes for Harvard Business Review Türkiye on AI policies and CoinDesk on blockchain regulations, sharing actionable insights into AI governance, blockchain, and emerging technology trends.
A dedicated mentor, Nesibe has supported over 13 startups through programs such as Hackquarters and Başlangıç Noktası, offering guidance on scaling strategies and navigating regulatory landscapes. She has spoken at over 30 global and local events, including Bloomberg and CNBC-e, and has delivered training programs on AI ethics and blockchain regulations to diverse audiences.
Previously, as the Corporate and Public Affairs Lead of Istanbul’s first Web3 hub, she established global partnerships, supported startups, and developed a thriving network of over 450 members. Her contributions laid the foundation for collaborative innovation in Türkiye’s tech ecosystem.
