Dr. Franck Courbon, MPhil. (University of Glasgow), MRes. (INSA Lyon), MEng. (Telecom St Etienne), PhD. (Mines de St-Etienne) is a Franco-British expert in hardware-enabled cybersecurity, committed to building a future of more secure, privacy-aware, and sustainable electronics – at scale. After 3.5 years at Gemalto (now Thales-DIS), a global leader in digital security and 7 years at the University of Cambridge Security/Computer Architecture Groups, Dr. Courbon founded Ethicronics Ltd in 2022, a Cambridge-based startup with ~£1M in secured funding across a £408k DASA (UK MoD) project involving Thales UK and a £2.5M InnovateUK UK-South Korea bi-lateral project involving the University of Oxford and a 3 years old $220M valued South Korean leader in memory technology (for datacenter and beyond).
