Meet the experts II - Community Engagement in Research
Mariam Regina Namata Kamoga - Regina is a Community Engagement and Empowerment expert with over 20 years of experience promoting safe, quality, and patient-centered healthcare for vulnerable populations. She focuses on grassroots engagement of patients, families, and communities, and has served on numerous national and international health advisory boards. She is the founding Chairperson of the Uganda Alliance of Patients Organisations (UAPO), a founding director of the World Patients Alliance (WPA), and a stakeholder group member of EDCTP3. As a WHO Patient Safety Champion and advisory group member, she advocates for patient safety globally. Regina has contributed to key global health guidelines and reports, including the WHO-TDR report on implementation research, CIOMS guidelines on patient involvement in drug development, and the 2016 WHO Global Guidelines for the Prevention of Surgical Site Infections.
