Global Alliance for Inter- and Transdisciplinarity

The Global Alliance for Inter- and Transdisciplinarity (ITD Alliance) aims to strengthen global capacity and enhance the quality of boundary-crossing research and practice. It supports a diverse, distributed network of individuals and institutions working across disciplinary, institutional, cultural, sectoral, and geographical boundaries to address complex societal challenges.

Alliance members share a commitment to advancing inter- and transdisciplinary approaches by contributing specialized knowledge, tools, and techniques that guide and support cross-disciplinary and cross-sector collaboration. The Alliance adopts a context-driven approach, recognizing diverse paradigms, experiences, values, and ways of knowing, acting, and being.

By fostering boundary-spanning research and innovation, the ITD Alliance builds collaborative capacity, integrates diverse perspectives, and cultivates a global community committed to addressing urgent societal needs. Members uphold academic freedom, scientific integrity, and the principles of open science in all activities undertaken through the Alliance.
