At the Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI), we are dedicated to advancing health through innovative research and development in the fields of epidemiology, biomedical sciences, and public health. About me

Sarah Hawi Ngere is a socio-behavioral scientist at the Kenya Medical Research Institute and is currently in the final year of her PhD in Anthropology at Maseno University, where she also earned a Master’s degree in Public Health. Her research interests lie in behavioral sciences using anthropological methods with a particular focus on understanding decision-making processes and communication strategies within and between individuals. She is passionate about designing and implementing behavior change strategies that consider the motivations and contexts shaping individual behavior. Sarah’s work aims to uncover the behavioral challenges that hinder the uptake of health interventions and to develop context-sensitive approaches to improve health outcomes. She is also a published author of peer-reviewed articles in the field.
